Why Greene King Are Doing This
The offer is designed to be a light-hearted, low-cost way for customers to toast the end of summer. As the price of everything starts to rise again, it is a small relief for many that, compared to recent years, socialising and enjoying drinks with friends can be done without placing too much strain on their wallet.
Also, it serves as a method for Greene King to get more customers through the door of their pubs after what has been a difficult period across hospitality. As per Olivia Robertson, the £2-a-pint offer is “enabling a reason for friends and family to gather socially” and allowing people an opportunity to enjoy visiting their local pub.
